The Andhra Pradesh government has announced changes to the remuneration and benefits packages for the chairmen and directors of its various corporations.

The Andhra Pradesh government has updated the compensation and benefits for the chairpersons and directors of its various corporations. This revision, announced on Monday (February 10th), follows a review prompted by inquiries from different government departments. Previously, the government had classified these corporations and boards into Category A and Category B.

Chairpersons of Category A corporations will now receive a total monthly compensation of ₹2,77,500, while those in Category B will receive ₹1,93,500. The Category A package includes a ₹1.27 lakh salary, a ₹52,000 personal staff allowance (for a Personal Secretary, Office Subordinate, and driver), a ₹60,000 vehicle allowance, ₹40,000 for accommodation, medical reimbursement, and travel benefits including Second AC train travel or economy domestic flights and business class for international flights. Category B chairpersons will receive a ₹60,000 salary, a ₹33,000 personal staff allowance (for a PA and driver), a ₹60,000 vehicle allowance, ₹40,000 for accommodation, medical reimbursement, and Second Class AC train or economy domestic flight travel.

A government order (G.O. Ms. No. 27), issued by Principal Secretary Mukesh Kumar Meena of the General Administration Department (Political), instructs all departments to provide office space for the chairpersons within their premises and to assign them a private secretary and office subordinate from existing staff. The initial categorization of corporations and boards into A and B was revisited due to numerous requests from various departments, leading to this revised order.

Thirty-nine institutions fall under Category A, including the 20 Point Formula program, AP MSME Development Corporation, APIIC, AP State Civil Supplies Corporation, AP Markfed, AP State Seeds Development Corporation, and AP Tourism Development Corporation. Category B comprises 42 institutions, such as the AP Padmasali Welfare and Development Corporation, AP Trade Promotion Corporation Ltd, and AP Gavara Welfare and Development Corporation.
