Thalapathy Vijay Launches Political Party, Unveils Flag and Anthem
In a significant move marking his transition from cinema to politics, Thalapathy Vijay officially launched his political party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), in February. Following the completion of his current projects, including “The G.O.A.T,” Vijay plans to dedicate himself fully to his political career. This transition was further solidified on August 22nd with the unveiling of the TVK flag and anthem at a ceremony held at the party headquarters in Panaiyur, Chennai.
The event, attended by Vijay’s parents, veteran filmmaker S. A. Chandrasekhar and Shoba, put to rest rumors of family discord. The newly unveiled TVK flag features red bands on either side of a central yellow band. The party emblem depicts two war elephants poised for battle, flanking a vaagai flower, a symbol of victory. Vijay announced his intention to detail the party’s principles, manifesto, and future plans at a large-scale state conference scheduled for September.
Adding to the day’s significance, Vijay also released a catchy TVK anthem. The anthem video opens with a depiction of two war elephants triumphing over their opponents, symbolizing the party’s ambition for victory. The opening lyrics translate to: “For the victory of Tamil people, The Leader has started his journey.” During the event, Vijay led his supporters in a pledge to eradicate discrimination and work towards the betterment of Tamil people globally.
Vijay emphasized the importance of adhering to legal processes, instructing supporters to obtain necessary permissions before hoisting the TVK flag and to hold the flag with pride. He stressed the party’s commitment to upholding the Indian constitution and working within established systems, urging members to refrain from any unlawful activities or taking the law into their own hands. This launch marks a new chapter for Thalapathy Vijay and his followers as they embark on their political journey.
