A Photo Exhibition of Dr. Vajranabh Nataraj Maharshi and the launching of a teaser of a documentary’ mystic mountain scopes on painter Vijayakumar Somanchi, (shot by Dr. Maharshi himself) sponsored by the AP. State creativity & culture commission presented by Kalapeetham, an art organization of Guntur, in the auditorium (Sudharma) of the Hindu college of Engineering & Technology on 14th February 2025.

Vijayakumar the Secretary had welcomed the guests. He explained the struggles that Dr. Maharshi went through, while producing the captivating images of various water birds at the Koller Lake. He expressed the need of attracting tourists to this spot to observe the way these birds behave cut their habitat. He went ahead in explaining what Kalapeetam had experienced through years in establishing its identity by providing exposure to various artists, while organizing Exhibitions and art camps and marketing them to individual and various corporate bodies, like ITC and State Bank of India etc. Hie also explained the need for proper art Gallery to Showcase the respective works.

He stressed upon the necessity of Art Academy in fulfilling the needs of artists and thus giving wings to their dreams. He also Said that Kalapeetam is in the process of establishing a gallery soon. while Speaking about his documentary, he said that the chemistry between the creator (Maharshi) and the created Seemed like milk and water. He expressed his gratitude to the photographer for bringing out the true essence of his life reflected through his creative lens and felt that it was a great experience working with Maharshi. Sri S.v. S. Laxmi Narayana the president of Kalapeetham, presided over the meeting. He explained the need of the younger generation to get motivated and inspired by Such shows, be it a painting or photo Exhibition. He said that the responsibility of the youngsters in taking forward the message of love and
sharing, what the photos depict though they are not human, they too have emotions like love, which they often exhibit in their feeding habits (to the chicks). How they come in search of a favorable climate for their breeding grounds travelling miles and miles from far lands in the Siberia and ending up in unknown lands, for fertility and upbringing their off springs.

He praised Dr. Maharshi’s effort in Capturing the emotions, of various water birds. Koller is a haven for water birds of different Species, like Pelicans, Storks, Ibises, Spoonbills, Egrets, Herons, Jacanas, Some variety of Ducks, Sand Pipers and cormorants. Guntur is fortunate in getting to see such works.

Sri M.V.Raghu, legendary cinematographer who was DOP of as many as 70 movies who had put in 50 productive years in the field, is the chief guest of the event. He worked with director K.Viswanath, and been a part the movies like ‘Swati Mutyam, and’Siri Vennela’, has explained the role of photographer in capturing the mood, creating drama and captivate the viewers in awe. He praised Dr. Maharshi as an
accomplished photographer and his unique approach and his pictorial ability in producing Some of his short films and documentaries that he produced so far and photographs of the birds at Kolleru in particular. The documentary that he produced on the life journey of Vijayakumar as an artist, proves how good he is as a photographer. His use of light.
