Constable Kulwinder Kaur, who was visibly displeased with Kangana Ranaut’s remarks on the farmers’ protests, faced suspension and an FIR following an alleged altercation with the actress at Chandigarh airport.
Sher Singh Mahival, a farmers’ leader and the brother of Kulwinder Kaur, defended his sister in response to the incident where she purportedly slapped and insulted Kangana Ranaut. Mahival reacted to the controversy, stating his support for his sister amidst the ongoing inquiry by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), which handles airport security.
Mahival commented on the incident, which occurred shortly after Kangana Ranaut’s victory in the Mandi Lok Sabha seat in Himachal Pradesh. He said, “I learned through the media that something happened at the Chandigarh airport. I now understand that this incident occurred during the checking of Kangana’s mobile and purse. Kangana had said during the farmers’ protest that women were there for ₹100.”
He further elaborated that the confrontation possibly stemmed from an emotional reaction from his sister, emphasizing the importance of both soldiers and farmers in their respective roles. “After the argument, my sister must have become emotionally angry, which led to this incident. Both soldiers and farmers are important and are fulfilling their duties in every way. We fully support her in this matter,” Mahival can be heard saying in a video circulated on social media.
Sher Singh Mahival, known for his role as a farmer leader, also serves as the organization secretary for the Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee in Kapurthala.
In a related development, Shivraj Singh Bains, a businessman based in Zirakpur (Mohali), has offered a reward of ₹1 lakh to Kulwinder Kaur for her actions against the Bollywood star. In a video message, Bains praised Kaur for her stance, applauding her for defending Punjabi people and their culture.
